Yeah I think its better on Safari on an iPhone than the mobile app.

Thanks for complaining... I think we need to get back to basics...  We're adding a dark mode and here I have users complaining about staying logged in.  SMH

what you're describing sounds like more caching than anything else, but it;s not acceptible.  If you can give us more details, that would be greatly appreciated by my small team.

thanks,

Patrick

Thanks for being willing to take feedback. Here are some comments I have: -The search function is practically useless. If I want to go find a specific user or post, I need to go do that in a mobile browser or in my PC. The app will not pick it up and I’ve tried clearing caches and stuff. -I have limited scrolling within threads, meaning after maybe ~100ish topics, I cannot pull down anything older and when I pull it down it just refreshes nothing. -I get signed out fairly often, and when I try to sign back in, it won’t register that I did (this issue has happened less recently, but still does from time to time) -When clicking on a profile, I cannot PM them and need to do that from a mobile browser or my PC -The titles on anonymous posting are incorrect sometimes (for example, I was going to reply to something anonymously, but for the title, it was going to label me as like a Portfolio Manager when I of course am an analyst in banking, as I entered into my profile) -Also, and this might be an issue that pops here, when I hit return to start a new line, it will still jumble everything together into one big paragraph on the mobile version (for this post, I am also separating everything by “-**” Again, these are issues I’m having on the mobile app, not in a browser or on the PC

Thanks for jumping on the grenade. Top issues are:

  1. App fails to recognize I'm logged in, requiring me to exit and sign back in maybe once every 30 minutes or so.

  2. The round category filtering radio buttons at the top of the home screen occasionally go away. For example OFF was missing for about a day. I agree it may be a caching issue since it came back on restart of my phone (android)

  3. Dark mode sounds good.

  4. I've heard search is a big resource intense PITA, so not asking for miracles, but the search function in the app is just as likely to pull a thread from 5 years ago as something recent and active, which strikes me as probably not what you intened.

  5. Links to other threads are generally not clickable in the app.

  6. I wrote this with proper formatting, because I am not actually a monkey with a keyboard, but it came out looking like this in the post.

  7. Can't add a profile image. When I go to upload it lets me click through after selecting the image but nothing happens.

Thanks

Hey, in case you wanted more details on bugs and stuff, I find that sometimes when I want to check a thread, I scroll to the end and the app crashes repeatedly. Weirdly it's fixed by uninstalling then re installing. Also on the same note, I can't always see all the comments (compared to the Web version). Hope this helps

Are you working on a way to save posts?

There is the follow function but it doesn’t really work. I’ve just been emailing myself links from the app and then bookmarking, or taking screenshots of helpful comments...

Have some of the same problemas as OP. (Android btw.)

  1. Will frequently be logged off, and after getting back in, the app won't recognize I did.

  2. Links for other threads will open WSO's home page on the browser; will never redirect within the app or at least to the actual thread on the browser.

  3. Very rarely, comments will appear but OPs will keep loading when entering a thread.

An issue for me is that I click on a post, it flashes the post for a second, and then the screen goes blank. I re-launch the app and try to open it up again, and it still goes blank. Also, on posts with multi-page comments, sometimes it doesn’t show one or all of the comment pages. Lastly, it doesn’t seem like links work on mobile at all. Even linking to another thread doesn’t work.

logging in thru socials doesn't work. just kinda gets stuck/shows error page

Is there any way to make the search function the top priority? It's literally unusable. I've tried to recommend friends use this site to look up specific things that they want to get insight about and it's impossible to do as the relevant search results 99% have nothing to do with what was typed in. Also the "exact match" option will sometimes return nothing even if its a simple search like "JPM pay"

Usually i will type in BB/EB Ranking 2020 WSO into google/safari and it pulls up the most relevant threads right away.

Just type in what you want then add "WSO" to the end.

App works mostly fine for me (pictures and gifs don't load well as mentioned above tho). Other than that, it's very very solid in terms of bugs. That being said, I'd love to be able to PM people on the app.

On the iOS version, quoted text isn’t formatted properly. Instead of formatting the quoted text like on the web version, it just shows up as jumbo’d up plaintext.

hey monkeys, just an update here...the dev team is hard at work trying to recreate these bugs and fix the most critical ones (oauth/social login / logout) first, but the mobile app is getting a lot more attention this week, so I expect that by the end of this week or early next you will start to see some major improvements.

Thank you for your patience!

Patrick

App is fine but definitely lots of kinks to work out still. Dark mode would be nice. Would not call it “trash” but a lot of what people say here is true. Weird log-on issues though not as much lately. Unable to perform company searches via app (would be a nice addition, I regularly search for comp). Generally though I like the app and interface is solid.

How about this t-shirt nonsense? If I don't want it, I don't want it. Quit having it appear after I click "x" the first time.

We don't need to see it every time we want to comment.
