URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hey guys I really need your help.

So theres an end of the summer cocktail party for interns this thurs at a lounge in midtown, and I need to know if my belt buckle has to match the buckles on my Gucci loafers (i.e. gold to gold)! I only have belts with silver buckles!

I dont want this to affect my chances of getting an offer.

HELP!

Can't speak as to whether it would affect your chances of getting an offer or not, but it would be a bit of a faux paus.

Personally, I wouldn't do it, and I'm just a college student. My advice, if you're planning on maintaining a somewhat lean wardrobe, would be to pick a color (gold or silver) and match all your items accordingly (loafers buckles, watch, belt buckle, etc.)

Nope, Gold is not meant to be worn or used, only used as an inflation hedge. Can you explain the inner workings of the silver AND gold market? Because if you wear both, you should be prepared to be grilled on both. I'd suggest playing to your strengths.

And for those of you who think this is a joke, shame on you. I would have been ostracized by my family had I worn gold buckles with a silver belt. The horrors.

You are right though that Tiffany's is the only acceptable money clip.

Chim Chim...And if you happen to pull out your money clip in front of others, remember to have the big bills on the outside.

No, that is ostentatious, I focus more on making sure the bills are tight so the clip doesn't stretch, but putting hundies on the outside is a dick move, it doesn't make you seem like a baller. I usually leave the ones on the outside because

1) I'm not a tool 2) It's less likely someone will see my cash and decide to mug me

I hope you understood there was sarcasm to my post, but if you didn't, I was joking.

I'm pretty sure when the firm is trying to decide whether to extend an offer to there will be a conversation similar to this...

Senior Banker 1: "So whats your feeling on DavidvanPatten?" Senior Banker 2: "Seemed like a pretty solid kid throughout the summer, good work ethic, motivated...but at the end of summer cocktail the buckles on his loafers didn't match his belt" Senior Banker 1: "Yeah, I remember that...Fucking idiot, lets deny him an offer" Senior Banker 2: "Agreed, we can't have a fucking first years running around here with unmatched buckles"
