Timex Weekender and I love it. You can buy a zillion watch bands from from all sorts of places (J. Press, Brooks Brothers, Eliza B.) and customize it to really make it an extension of you. Inexpensive. Classic good looks. Gets the job done. $35 for the watch on Amazon. ~$15 per band.
http://www.google.es/imgres?um=1&hl=es&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mo…
depends on your current net worth and human capital. if you currently have huge college loans, don't buy one. If you're in the black and saving >50k / year, maybe splurge but don't be too flashy because many will find you obnoxious. I wear a Tag Heuer that i've had since i was 21 and i love it... having said that, if i found out in August that I passed CFA level 3 i'm going to buy a new watch so here's what i'd say on higher end brands: be thoughtful about value. i LOVE mont blanc watches. they are about half the price of an entry level rolex but also aren't likely to retain their value... but then, will you ever actually sell it? I also like Chopard and Omega, and Tag has some very nice watches (mine is mid range for Tag)
cop a panerai
Seiko Kinetic, or a Tag Heuer.
Everything that is not Omega is usually nouveau riche.
Buy what you want, it should mean something to you....who cares about what everyone else thinks. For me it was an Omega to celebrate a big milestone. Though I have to complement Rolex on their awesome customer service on repairs/cleaning.
Cartier Roadster XL. Gift from the wife.
But seriously, no one gives a crap about your watch. Spend as much as you feel comfortable doing and don't worry about what's "appropriate." I didn't wear a watch for years. If I had my way, I still wouldn't be.
Any input on Hamilton? I got a nice Seiko SKX007 diver for my first automatic but want something with a leather band for interviews/office wear.
Omega Speedmaster, one of the most classic and storied watches you can get.
Get an Omega, Mont Blanc, or Breitling, don't spend over 3.5k
It's a fucking watch. Get one you think looks cool and is in your price range.
Thank you.
To add on- you might want to consider Emporio Armani. Price ranges to as low as $100 (sometimes) and it's a respectable company (from my understanding).
Get a Patek Philippe with a few complications but dont spend over 75k
ha... don't do this
You aren't going to get a patek with a few complications( more than two) for less than 75k, sorry
For "classy" watches, I would discriminate as the following :
Top tier : Pathek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-Lecoultre High tier : Lange & Söhne, Zenith, IWC, Vacheron Constantain, Blancpain, Breguet Decent tier : Omega, Rolex (discrete and vintage ones), Longines, Panerai, Breitling and Tag Heuer (more sport oriented) Stupid nouveau riche tier : Rolex with any kind of bling, Hublot
Most of these watches will cost $1000 or more.
finally some1 that agrees with me on rolex
Either buy a Timex/Casio (gives the impression of responsible practicality) or get a proper watch from a reputable watchmaker.
One day if you have money you'll want a watch that checks off this list:
I'd argue the watch that does the best on all 5 is Glashutte Original (despite their fragmented history). I myself have one.
P.S.- Stay away from Tag Heuer- even though they seem cheap at $1500-$2500, they are almost completely made from outsourced parts. You're almost literally taking a nice $100 swatch and putting the Tag logo on it. Of course you get to wear the watch that many athletes wear in magazine advertisements :/ It's sporty!
But the best advice: Just buy a Rolex (if you make $150k+) or a Patek (if you make $300k+) and flash it around to impress people, and be done with it :)
You might be tempted to buy a cheap $1500 Tag to flash around and impress people if you aren't making six-figures, but resist the urge and save.

Cool ones: Classic Rolex Submariner AP Jules Audemars Omega Speedmaster Patek Philippe Calatrava
Not much of a watch expert though. so nothing revolutionary here...
those are a bit too pricey for me.
i was thinking something like this

Favorites: -Rolex Daytona; Gold bezel&case, white face (gold chrono-rings), brown alligator strap -Rolex Submariner; black face, stainless steel band -Rolex Yachtmaster II Regatta (gold) -AP Royal Oak Offshore Safari -AP Royal Oak Offshore Navy -Patek Phillipe Complications -Cartier Tank Francaise -Cartier Santos 100 XXL
Current: -1960s stainless steel datejust, got it as a gift from a family friend
If that's your budget, check out the Citizen Eco-Drive line
Yeah I'd second the Citizen Eco-Drive watches - got one before my summer internship.
Still a couple of years from getting that IWC Portuguese...
I will go check those out now. I really like this one too..

accountingstudent, going by your user name, you probably do not want to drop several thousand on a Rolex.
But you have good options: seiko and citizen are solid (I like the Black Monster from seiko). If you can go a bit higher, look at Stowa and Oris. Very nice watches, and way underpriced vs "preftige" brands.
If you like watches, read about movements and the manufacturing process. I wouldn't get a quartz watch - there is no craftsmanship there.
NOMOS
My current watch is a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 42mm automatic chronograph stainless steel
absolutely gorgeous
I like Omega's a lot, but there are tons of great brands out there. If you are price conscious I would suggest getting a pre-owned watch.
G-SHOCK
i like my swatch. cheap comfortable analog watch with lots of functionality (timer, date, glow in the dark hands, etc). I also have a stainless seiko which is more subaru wrx than porsche...a ton of watch for the money.
i highly recommend the traditional seikos (made for japan) which come with robust movements, excellent stainless construction, and traditional designs. i have a diving watch (Google "black monster") and it's built like a tank for $300.
had a rolex in the past but overall i tired of it too quicky and soured me on high end watches. very well made but my seiko is 95% of quality at fraction of price.
don't get a fashion brand "chanel" "michael kors" etc those are pieces of shit with lousy movements. If you are paying hundreds of dollars for quartz movement you are a moron.
right now i really want a slim vintage watch on a leather band. but my swatch does the job so i've been wearing that for the last year.
here's the black monster if anyone is interested. you can also get it with an orange face but it will cost more due to rarity and orange is an acquired taste.

I like your style BT. That looks like a cross between a traditional Bond Seamaster and a Planet Ocean. Love it.
I really like my Speedmaster, but have been eye balling a Rolex Datejust. Vintage watches are nice to get into also if you have the patience to search for them.
OP:
I bought a very basic Seiko 5 years ago and it still ticks great. I believe the one you linked SLC033 Le Grand Sport, would work great for you. Whatever watch you get, just make sure it has a date function, as I cannot live without that now that I have it.
I have worn the same Tag for the past 6 years. It's nice but not ridiculously expensive. Good luck.

I also think the Citizen Eco-Drive line is ideal for your price range.
Tissot makes some nice watches for the price.
if you want a cheap watch and don't want digital, chose Swatch.
Leather or steel band?
Not to thread jack, but I've been searching the internet for awhile, Im looking for a chronograph with a day and a date function as well. I love the vintage look too. If you guys have any suggestions, Id love it. Thanks, budget is around 150-300 if possible.
Rolex Datejust all steel- Great watch, understated elegance and will last forever. (slightly biased opinion because i have one but...)
I'm a big fan of the Skagen brand. They are relatively cheap and have a very low profile.
Well I wear a US SUBMARINE BLACK STRAP BLUE DIAL one and it seems that it is one of the best, light weight and perfect. I also happen to have a Poloclub metallic chain round dial watch but I like the US Submarine one better than the PoloClub.
if the rotating bezel comes off your watch is it unacceptable to keep wearing it "naked". mine just popped off and it looks sort of cool/intentional... or am i being way too cheap and should just fork over the few hundred to get it replaced?
part of the problem is I have sort of been wanting something new but havent found the courage to make the investment and spending a few hundred on my old watch isn't very exciting.

my Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller
Can never go wrong with leather bands. If you are looking for an affordable simple elegant look, Skagen has some nice styles.
I've started locking my watch in my desk before going out or even to the gym directly from work. I've heard too many horror stories (theft, straight up mugging) and apparently it can be a pain in the ass to get an insurance claim through, as they assume you are committing fraud.
This applies to pretty much everything >$5k or so, and some of the flashier looking stuff under that threshold.
Being a guy in college, I like Seiko. My Dad bought me a Seiko Coutura in high school and it still works like a charm 5 years later (hope I can keep that sucker forever). The Black/Orange Monsters are awesome, but they're rather thick. Take a look at Seiko's "Arctura" line. Very cool watches for under $500 on Amazon.
I hope to have a Rolex Submariner one day, but until then, I'm more than happy with my Seikos.
Longines Column Wheel Chronograph with brown leather band and white dial. I need to save up a lot more before I can afford that sucker, though...

I think I finally deserve to buy myself a nice watch. I'd like something very nice, but not tacky or nouveau (Rolex, Breitling etc), I can spend up to $7,500 but less is obviously better.
Can anyone suggest and brands? I have a slim wrist so nothing huge, but also want something that is elegant but can be worn everyday.
Any opinions?
get a g-shock, they go well with suits lol.
seriously though just figure out what your price range is first and then make sure its a reputable brand that somebody who knows watches will appreciate, you never know who will take notice of what kind of watch you have on.
You could pick up an IWC.

Timex is all you really need.
Tha fuck is your problem bro!?
I find Longines very underrated, and quite classy.
Hamilton Jazzmaster. Under $700. Beautiful watch.
Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 42mm Automatic Chronograph. About $4k and beautiful. It's what I have
Frederique Constant. They make a lot of their watches in house and you're getting a lot of bang for your buck. You can also check out Nomos.
Really depends on your budget. What I suggested above runs generally around 2-4Kish
Jaeger LeCoultre Gran Sport Reverso Duo
^ Jaeger reverso is a very nice choice if the OP has the budget for it.
I've seen them for 7.5k-8.5k on ebay new, might stretch his budget a bit but it's worth it.
Something else you can get for under $7500 is Glashutte Original. In-House movements, well respected and quite elegant.
For something sportier, Zenith might be doable.
Glashutte Original (panomatic date or lunar are two that I like) Jaeger Lecoultre IWC Blancpain (will be tough to find @ 7.5K -- maybe pre owned?)
Of course there are the more "typical" brands like tag and omega.
Stowa. Nobody else will have one. Super limited production (means a few months wait, though), cheap compared to IWC, and just as old (was one of the Luftwaffe watch makers, hence the Flieger and B-Uhr). Marine in rose gold would hit your budget, Flieger no logo with original brown strap is the classic but is too casual for a suit environment. Also second Glasshutte/Lange & Sohne. Vacheron makes decent ultrathin automatics if you want to be a more classic chap.
IWC is like Porsche - everybody with enough money has one. They are more common than Rolexes! Nothing screams "I'm an EM at McKinsey" like an IWC Portuguese. Nothing screams "I'm an EM at McKinsey, but think myself an original thinker and the odd one out in that team of corporate drones" like an IWC Portuguese in black.
Doubt he'd be able to get an a lange and sohne or a vacheron with a 7500 budget unless you go vintage. New GO is definitely doable though.
Stowa is very good if you're budget is a bit tighter. But I think it takes some time to get online because it's not available in stores.
Cartier
Omega Submariner
Look into Nomos, Glasshutte, IWC, and Jaeger Le Coultre
For around 5k, Dodane Type 21 or 23 is a decent aviator.

I'm just kinda lost as to what I should get. Should I get a leather strapped watch or something stainless steel?
I'm looking for one or two every day watches which is why my price range is kinda low. Anybody have good knowledge on this lower tier of watches. I've heard good things about both Bulova and Citizen, but I want to know of other good brands out there.
Preferably a watch that looks good in both casual and in a business setting.
IWC spitfire
Apple watch.
Bulova stainless or global stainless, ceramic two tone
Check out Tsovet, I just picked up a watch from here, seems great so far. If you like the "big face" trend that's going on, they have a few of those as well
Seiko! Generally well respected as a low-mid tier watch. They don't really have gimmicky watches, all are decent quality , especially above $400. Seiko SARB033 or any Diver are really safe choices imho, I think those are in your price range
Orient
I prefer steel strapped watches, but it totally depends on the your like.
Japaniese Orient is great I have Orient btw
Both of the brands you mention are good. I consider Bulova to be more formal (I know mine certainly is), so for a watch to wear every day, I think Citizen would be the better of the two options.
@GridMonkey2007: What type of Bulova do you have? Could you post a link?
delete
I have the Citizen Eco-Drive, I like it.
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dress/c3sst-mk2.html That's my go-to atm. The leather is a bit darker then the picture suggests and the face a bit brighter, however, if you prefer black leather, or metal straps then you can get that as well, you can also get gold instead of stainless steel.
just get a Rouchefoucauld. The thinnest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland, and water resistant to three atmospheres.

These "PE guy" posts are so pathetic.
I have heard of/met top portfolio managers and partners at large PE firms that wear watches that cost less than $20...seen analysts wearing watches that cost thousands....wear whatever watch you want to wear.
Step 1: Develop your own taste in watch.
Step 2: Buy your watch because it's your style and not someone elses.
I second notthehospitalER for stating the truth. People who have something to prove (the analysts) wear the big watches while the top guys are wearing 20 buck watches. People should stew on this. You make the call.

Leather or chain band?
Need more info.
Save money. Unless your Bond use your phone.
If it is an expensive watch get metal. Leather has to be matched to the shoes and belt, while metal goes with most everything (get stainless as gold would have to go with gold buckles which are less common than silver).
Another element to think of is expensive watches also have expensive leather bands. They will have to be replaced which will add to the cost of the watch.
Good analysis. I was debating internally whether to get a stainless steel or leather band watch. I'm thinking of going with metal.
I dont want to start another thread for the question im about to ask. Is a redline watch an acceptable watch?
Leather unless its one of those huge faced watches than go metal. All depends.
I have a Chopard Classic and I'm sure as shit not putting a metal band on this thing.
Depends on the watch. I have a Tag Heuer Carrera with a stainless steel band but it looks awesome with a leather band as well.
And chain.. It isn't a pocket watch bro...
I have a gold wedding band. I know you're supposed to "match metals & leathers"; is my ring somehow exempt from this? I hate two-toned and gold watches frankly and would just rather wear a silver-toned one.
Thoughts?

Are these like IWC knockoffs? They aren't bad looking.
I would get 2 or 3 fossils for ~150 each before I got one 500 dollar watch in your price range. Black leather band, brown leather band and metal and you can change it up almost daily. You're going to want to replace this down the line anyway but I usually go for variety in watches so I'm probably biased.
Thanks for the input, I found these two fossils

I really like the look of the IWC Portofino, but that is way out of my budget. The closest thing I have seen is the Seiko Spirit.
Anyone have some good suggestions?
And I’ve seen a website (www.timermall.com ), that price of watches is very low. Is it good to consider that?
Thanks.
At that price point why get something cheap, why not just get a Timex and save your money?
OP it's going to be difficult to find an automatic watch of quality that fits your budget ($200) besides a Seiko or Citizen. That said, a Seiko Spirit, from what I've read, is a pretty good watch.
If you're willing to move up a price point to $300-500, you can also consider a Tissot (though, I'm not sure if you'll be lucky enough to find an automatic Tissot at that price). There's a German brand called Stowa that apparently has very good quality per value, but will likely cost over $500. Trouble though - is it's not widely available in North America. There's Movado (if you're fine with having no numbers on the face). I've also seen Longines for around $500 before...
I would suggest trying to ask people in StyleForum. They have some people who are pretty into watches and quite knowledgeable. Here's a long-running post from SF: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=36253&page=1

Yeah, he upgraded to the stainless steel waveceptor and came in and started showing it off to all the analysts. Pretty funny stuff.
+1 on the G-shocks, etc.
When it comes to watches, get something low-key as a junior person. Anything flashy is a ridiculous affectation that will win you more contempt than respect from the people that matter.

What's the Tag for? Middle school?
...philwatch is an ebay store that sells good used stuff in basically new condition. Purchased a cartier french tank from them and it looked perfect, was real, and cost 50% less then new. just put philwatch in google.
Hamilton
I'd pick up a vintage piece rather than a new tag - suprisingly a used well kept automatic would last longer than a middle of the road quartz
I personally don't like Tags, but I've seen bankers wearing them. If you're willing to spend a little bit more, get a more respected watch - a lower model Omega or a Breitling. Try calling up your local watch dealer (Torneau if possible) and see if you can buy an old stock watch. I got an "old stock" watch (was just 3 years old, never worn) for half the price by doing this.
I personally like the design of Tags; I don't know why people would say they are unprofessional.
Any other ideas?
http://www.jomashop.com/patek-3970ej.html
My personal opinion is that you should never spend $1000 on a watch. If you can't afford it yet, wear a casio g-shock or something relatively inexpensive ($5 is as good as $100).
If you like watches, save your money until you can get a nice mechanical. Omega and Breitling make some pretty decent watches with modified ETA movements. A stainless steel Rolex always works nicely for most occasions.
If you want to buy a watch nobody will recognize, get a Lange, Vacheron, or Patek. They're a bit fussy and can be tempermental versus a Rolex which can take a beating, but they do represent a higher level of workmanship. I'm especially partial to the 5070 in white gold (my current daily wearer), and the 5146 in any form. Be warned: the sticker may give you a minor heart attack.
My feeling, though, is that a $1000 quartz watch like most Tags, as well as some Breitlings and Omegas, are a complete waste of money. You'll regret buying it in the long run.
I want a Lange and a JLC, but realize I'll need to be making serious paper to spend $15-30k on a watch.
I don't wear one currently due to that reason.
The Lange 1 is a great piece of metal, no?
I'd rather wear a $5 gas station quartz special than be suckered into buying the same damn thing with a fancy brand. That's why I say stick with the cheapo watch, or no watch, until you're more liquid.
Bingo! Rolex is a fantastic watch, but in the mid single digits I'd probably go for a JLC Reverso. At Touraneau, the sales associate liked me so much, he took out the Gold on Gold Rolex Daytona with diamond bezel. $30k, and very flashy.
Even then, that Lange 1 is a work of art. This guy has a beautiful collection: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showpost.php?p=425050&postcoun…
I rather wait a few years, let alone affording a Lange 1, but I think a watch is something you deserve. It's on your wrist, you and everyone else can see it. The work produced from your hands is manifested into that timepiece.
I really like watches and have been lucky enough to be handed down a Rolex Submariner (which will cost about $500 to get cleaned). However, workmanship on the movement is not necessarily higher on more expensive watches. For example, Seiko makes extremely high quality movements on both their quartzes and automatics (their kinetic movements are lousy). In fact, the Seiko movements are not necessarily inferior to Rolex!! The reason to buy an expensive watch is not the quality of the movement, but rather the flair and design.
I am partial to the Breitling Navitimer http://www.watchesplanet.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl/SID=4688e3463710/detail=A2…
and the IWC Da Vinci http://www.watchesplanet.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl/SID=4688e3dc3710/detail=IW…
For a lower end watch, I like some of the classic looking Seikos.
Love the sub - best all purpose watch you can buy. And yes, Seiko has some pretty damn good movements, but mostly not in the US. Here you mostly get quartz stuff which I dislike as a general rule. The Grand Seikos are magnificent, but cost as much as a submariner or more.
The navis are real nice - I have an Olympus but keep telling myself I need to get a Heritage or vanilla one of these days. No collection is complete without a navi.
I hear what you're saying on design, but I'm a guts of the timepiece kind of guy. I like Ferraris because they're magnificent little machines on the track. Styling by pininfarina is just a bonus. I wouldn't buy a Lambo just because they look cooler.
With quartz watches, the one exception I'll make is for the Breitling professionals - gotta like a watch that is specially backlit so that it can be read with night vision goggles on.
i have the tag link, its the one thats on all the billboards with tiger woods. cost me 2500, but i'd recommend getting a cartier pasha or roadster, the new pasha is sick and its also a little cheaper than the roadster chrono.
On a slightly related note, I really want a Jaeger Lecoultre Atmos. It's one of the coolest clocks I've ever seen. It runs on changes in temperature rather than winding or battery. Have you ever seen one Genghis Khan?

I haven't - I'll have to check it out.
Edit - I followed your link. That's pretty damn cool. I like the perpetual calendar version with years to 3000.
sorry for being stupid but what the difference between movement watches and quartz watches. how can the quality on a watch thats 1000+ dollars be bad, am i really that nieve.
so assuming tags are "bad" then what "good" watches have similar minimalist design
Quartz watches are electronic creations that are far more accurate than any mechanical watch can ever be. They tend to be accurate to a few seconds per year. This advancement nearly drove the swiss/mechanical watch industry into oblivion in the late 70s, partly because they are extremely cheap to produce.
A mechanical watch is run by gears and springs, and is considered to be superb if it is accurate with a few seconds per DAY. However, the craftsmanship that goes into making an instrument of that precision is what makes it beautiful.
Most people choose their watches based upon design and aesthetics, which is fine, but I don't really get why you'd spend $1000 or $2000 solely for brand and design. The absurdly expensive watches you see are primarily so because the fit, finish and craftsmanship of say, a Patek, borders on lunacy.
Spent part of bonus after my first year on a Breitling. Great watch, but learned that watches are overrated--once you have a decent one, then you don't yearn for the rainmaker watches that much. I'd rather spend the money on something valuable--like alcohol.
bankers wear Timex Ironman watches. The MDs all know how much the analysts and associates make, so if they see one walking around in a $1500 watch, they're not impressed - they just make fun of the guy. Same with expensive suits, shoes, etc.
As a senior associate, I'd take an analyst who smells and dresses like a hobo but is a rockstar at work over a guy who tries to get by on looks and clothes anytime.
casio g-shock is not really a good look.
X2 to the pretentiousness being slobbered around recently on clothes and watches. It smells like Eau de Wannabe to me, but what I do I know. I take pride in my dress and wear a decent watch, but refuse to throw names around of show up to work looking and smelling like pierce brosnan.
I had a kenneth cole watch in college. I received a Tag Heuer for graduation (steel one around 800 bucks).
Pulled the trigger on an IWC automatic. I like it, it has 7 day power reserve and looks fine classy. However, people don't talk shit about buying watches, shoes or clothes. No one tells you how to spend your money. Honestly, why the fuck would you work in banking if people told you how to spend your money? For the "Love of the Game", shit thats like 1%, I like the "Game" he is a great rapper.
I have a tag that I was given for a graduation present. I love it, it is bulletproof. It also is a version with a small face that makes it look like a woman's watch in comparaison with some of the monster's I have seen on suits in NYC. Is going with a smaller watchface acceptable?
Congrats on your purchase. Personally, I think it is a very classy watch and thats a real good price.
what about a movado, concord, or ebel (all swiss made)
I used to work for movado group who owns all of the brands I listed above as well as some other licensed brands. they usually have friends/family sales a couple times a year, where you can get some really good deals (~50% off). I dont think the next one is until May, but I'll try to keep everyone posted.
movados are for black people.
Buy whatever you like drunkenmunky. If you like the Movado, buy it. Some people like the way certain watches look, others like the guts, etc. Do whatever floats your boat.
On another note, if you guys are into just the design of watches, you can buy a high quality replica. I am not condoning or promoting the replica business, but there are high-quality ones out there. I personally don't own any, but I thought I'd throw that out there. To say it again: I don't really think replica watches are a great thing, but they do exist.
No one is talking about not enjoying the rewards. Just the heaps of pretentiousness being thrown about, that is all. Good choice on the watch, am looking at an Acquatimer myself.
Yup, no regrets. 10k, 3 years, salvage 5k... not bad...
I'd be pretty surprised if somebody realized one of my watches was particularly unusual. I own them because I like them.
panerai
I don't enjoy the large watch trend here. I have a large wrist, and anything over 39-40mm looks clownish. I think IWC makes a great piece, but some of the 44mm's are just too much IMO.
IWC's size isn't a trend. That is part of their heritage.
I, personally, love large watches. My Sub is the smallest watch I really enjoy wearing anymore. I prefer my new IWC Pilot Chrono, which is larger and thicker.
Not totally sure about Panerai yet. They have a lot to prove, in my opinion.
Ronald congrats on your Pilot Chrono purchase. Great Taste!
My next watch will probobly be a mid range breguet
Thank you.
I need to steer myself away from the sport watches to, at some point, by myself a proper dress watch. A Breguet would be a great choice. I have been very into A Langes recently, but it will be some time before I am ready for a purchase like that.
Also, I am totally obsessed with the IWC Big Pilot, and hope to own one someday.
I like the blue Big Pilot, i almost bought that for a going out watch, but think i would get pissed if something happened to it.
Another Watch Thread... (Originally Posted: 04/28/2016)
I know there are a lot of these watch threads, and I know that it really doesn't matter what watch you wear.
I bought a Seiko SARB033 for my summer internship because it was a safe, humble and quality watch. When I was talking about watches with my coworkers, they said that you shouldn't wear a watch unless it's a really nice one. I have a Panerai and a IWC pilot as well that I refrained from wearing. But I'm confused because I thought analysts were supposed to sort of dress down and not have anything flashy.
As long as it isn't a loud watch, it's fine no one really cares. If you want to wear your Panerai, go for it, if someone calls you out just say you're a big fan of watches so you own some nice ones, but I highly doubt anyone is going to give you shit for it.
I'm also a big fan of MVMT watches - cheap watches that look nice and tell the time. That's all you need really.
Definitely wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident! I think every watch you have is going to be suitable for a summer internship. Not sure what your coworkers are smokin' but all three watches you pointed are going to be nice and fine. Don't worry.
Ahh I should have been clear that I've already finished my summer and am starting full time soon. But thanks for the input! I definitely feel the most comfortable with the IWC, so I'll wear that for most days. Thanks!
This is how you know who is going to work until the day they die.
What lol?
I assume you are saying that I'm irresponsibly spending my money. Which is probably true, but I'm working on it. Idk if this makes it better for worse, but those 2 other watches were gifts from family members.
