Hey SECBanker, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot...do any of these help:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.
How thought provoking
[Deleted - I was beat to it]
Well played sir......
Do you also think Lower Manhattan is becoming too.. commercial?
The nuclear arms race is over, now we await the aftermath. That has always been the bigger problem anyways
I feel like a lot of people missed the reference
The infringement on freedom of speech
Are you referring to Trump punishing journalists he doesn't like, or are you yet another conservative who doesn't understand how the First Amendment works? Youtube/Twitter/FB isn't obligated to host any content they don't want.
Which president infringed on the freedom of the press more, Obama or Trump?

Wealth disparity. We've had a handful of boom/bust cycles in the past 30 years (basically since Reagan and deregulation efforts) that are catastrophic to the working class. Check out Jamie Dimon's thoughts on a possible recession. We're watching the boom happening again now and then when it goes bust the wealthiest class will purchase everything at a steep discount because the poor need to sell in order to make ends meet. Then it will go back up when the wealthy have it a few years later and will sell it back to the poor and the cycle repeats.
Isn't this almost just natural course though? I agree income inequality is a pressing issue, but if these cycles always occur, what would be any potential solutions to this?
In the US, and maybe abroad, I think its social media/the media.
Social media, because it is used in a way to make others jealous, depressed and anxious about themselves. I think this backdoors other problems, such as economic inequality, because no one is ever satisfied with their life. Its hard to compare your life day in and how to everyone else's highlight reel.
Media, because it sansationalizes everything, gives misleading stats/information and caters to the lowest level viewers to maintain ratings.
Good Black Mirror episode about this, although my acknowledging that is case in point.
An inability to plan for and coherently articulate a view of the future is perhaps the most troubling, but it's not unique to the US.
Believing facts rather than just what someone more powerful than you wants you to believe.
What if I told you that there are no facts? Does that matter?
I would say that you are in many ways incorrect
Imagining you as Morpheus, talking to Mac's Nightman character about the nature of reality is probably going to be the highpoint of my day.
Take it easy, Pilate

White Liberals (the woke crowd).
Consistently the only group that applies double standards when it comes to censorship. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/333677484_The_Ideology_of_Cens…
They are ruining cities with their dumb policies: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/22/opinion/california-housing-nimby.html
They are the most intolerant people across all groups: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2019/03/us-counties-vary-t…
Most likely to block people for having a different opinion or break friendships for the same reason: https://medium.com/@NoahCarl/who-doesnt-want-to-hear-the-other-side-s-v…
Unsurprisingly, the most racist. They dumb down their language when interacting with minorities as if the latter are retards in need of help, but they also keep fellow white conservatives as the whipping boy. https://academic.oup.com/poq/article-abstract/81/4/930/4652248?redirect…
Which results in very bizarre and extreme outgroup racial preferences, unlikely literally everyone else. https://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/284875/americas-whit…
White liberals are truly some of the worst people in the country. They have done enormous damage.
I mean I am white and consider myself socially liberal and I've done none of these things. It's not all "white liberals", its the truly far left (consisting of most racial groups) that is damaging due to their major double standard and blatant refusal to uphold liberal principles.
that little bit of peanut butter in the jelly jar
The encroachment on freedom of association. To summarize, everyone has bullshit to deal with, but it is becoming more common now that you must take on other peoples bullshit or you are a bigot or whatever. This is whats causing tension to rise and will ultimately boil over into a full blown shit show fought over bullshit.
The biggest threat is obviously global warming Socially, gun law infringements and left leaning economics are the biggest threats
Fully agree on global warming
Would you not consider global warming/climate change out of the realm of ordinary, but still within historical averages? Not trying to attack, but how much do you think of the climate change/global warming crisis is a little overblown/more natural causes than man made?
Domestically: - A president who learned to exploit low-information voters, Boomers, and racists to lie daily with no repercussions. The White House can no longer be trusted to tell the truth to the American people. (And I realize all politicians spin) - Anti vaxxers - Income inequality - Unresolved immigration policy (there I said it!) - Gun violence
Globally: - global warming - white nationalism - terrorism - food security
The amount of MS you receive for daring to criticize Dear Leader or white nationalism on this site is absolutely pathetic.
How many people worldwide are members of verified white nationalist groups? How many people have been killed by white nationalists over say the last 25 years vs by radical Muslims? In no way am I condoning white nationalism but to say that it is one of the top global issues is hysteria.
Agree on immigration, although I am sure we have very different approaches to solving it.
Ah yes, "it's a black guy's fault I'm racist!" People that claim Obama is the most divisive president we've had recently shouldn't be taken seriously.
But thanks for reminding me that I need to add overpolicing as a major domestic issue :)
Instead of using white nationalism as a bogeyman like an NPC parroting Hillary Clinton and Don Lemon, why don't you ask yourself why you think that Europe, Canada, and the US aren't entitled to self determination when it comes to immigration policy?
Business Interests, the republican private sector. For slowly eroding popular controls over a period of many decades to the point where the most powerful nation in history is actively speeding up the destruction of climate and of the planet.
For the USA, I would say the escalating costs of health care and higher education. Until we get this under control, the middle class will struggle.
