Need urgent advice!!

Hey All,

I recently moved to NYC for job opportunities, I interviewed at a number of commercial banks and received a verbal offer from one.

I decided to stick with that as it was the one best suited for my profile, a month later the offer has been stalled/rescinded due to a hiring freeze. However I am stuck paying rent and bills at my place with only 3/4 months savings to last me.

What would be the best strategy to go about job hunting? The online applications don't seem to be working and my network is very limited as I am new to the city.

Thoughts?

You moved to NYC without any prospects during one of the toughest economic cycles of the past decade to wing getting a job? I respect the ambition, but you need to regroup, get out of this lease, go back home (if that is an option, if not go somewhere cheaper) and continue interviewing remote. Maybe even pick up a job to meet ends meet while you’re at it in service work or part time. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the feedback man, It was a decision I had to make. Either I move to the US now or lose the opportunity to move to the US forever, timing wasn't in my control. Do you have any advice on how to build out a network here, events, mixers etc.?
