Difference between corporate consulting vs corporate strategy vs normal consulting/strategy vs corporate development
Dear WSO members,
My questions are:
1. corporate consulting vs corporate strategy vs normal consulting/strategy vs corporate development
2. What is business development (maybe with reference to Big 4 as I know about some of their departments theory wise)
3. How different is Business Development(BD) compared to Consulting/Advisory or Risk ( Are these subset of business development?)
4. Are BD Front Office ?
5. Which of these below are FO ? Risk vs Consulting differences (which one has better pay and more promotions) ?
For example, these are taken from Deloitte website:
Audit & Assurance:
Business Advisory Services
Consulting:
Human Capital
Strategy & Operations
Technology
Financial Advisory:
Mergers & Acquisitions
Financial Crisis
Risk Advisory:
Strategic & Reputation Risk
Regulatory Risk
Financial Risk
Operational Risk
Cyber Risk
Tax:
Global Business Tax
Indirect Tax
Global Employer Services
Thank you very much. Cheers.

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
Hi users, does anyone knows anything about this ?
I’ll take a crack
Thanks for the explanation Sasha.
So corporate development and business development are towards sales ?
I have also noticed that there are two strategy departments, one under Consulting (S&O) while the other under Risk Advisory (Strategic & Reputation Risk). What is the difference between both ?
