Still trying to get a feel for the space myself but seems like Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) is one of the be the highest paying/most prestigious firms in the sector.
Both Ares and KKR are great in the space and have made a killing during the downturn (which may very well extend to a few years down the line) as other investment strategies tried to stay afloat. Those will be great places to start with the brand names.
I'd say GIP and Brookfield are at the top (latest fund size and past deals in tricky sectors / geographies is indicative of that). MIRA is also a global behemoth. Then you have KKR, Blackstone, Stonepeak and all the other MFs. Believe that for the most part, except for MIRA, most of the aforementioned names offer similar comp.

Does MIRA offer more or less
Less from what I've heard but have not been able to gather datapoints yet
GIP, Brookfield, MIRA
