Up to age 23, my experience is that they're still fairly idealistic and also still anxious to get started in their careers. Where they will live for the long term isn't settled yet due to their desire to maybe go to grad school etc. As they get closer to 26, they're less flaky. The disadvantage to younger girls is that they're more flaky like let's meet for dinner at 5. I'm there at the restaurant at 5. She comes strolling in at 5:15ish without even calling me on my phone to tell me what's going on. I hate flakiness, but I digress. Every study of dating preferences show that men are much more open than women. Of course, men still do prefer their own, but is is not as nearly as strong as that of women. I don't get why people are so astonished by their marriage. They have the same story as many other couples - they met in college and got hitched a few years afterward. He's a software dude and she's a doctor. He's one of those guys who kept his sweatshirt and basketball shorts after he made a ton of money, as opposed to a child who asks others on an internet forum if a Patek Philippe would be a good investment for his first analyst paycheck. Is my comment a generalization? Yes. Do I think ALL Asian women are like this? Absolutely not. But stereotypes do exist for a reason, and unfortunately they arise because they are grounded in a certain amount of empirical reality. After all, you never hear the stereotype that Asians are athletic because by and large it's not true. I believe that the same dynamic is at work regarding Asian-American women and white men. Due to powerful evolutionary forces, women evolved so that they heavily favor dating men in their group. When our ancestors lived in small tribes in caves, women who ventured outside were severely punished, left to fend for themselves. Because women had to rely on men for support, they had to stay within their tribe. Over thousands of years, this became an evolutionary trait, a means of survival. This explains why women prefer men of their own ethnic background. However, studies of U.S. dating preferences show that Asians are the only women who go against this pattern because they actually prefer white men over Asian men by a fairly big margin. So one has to wonder what's going on here. Why are Asian women the only group that is so open to interracial dating? I have my own theories on this, but I don't believe for a second that it's just "random." Moreover, I have heard numerous Asian women openly bash Asian guys, belittling them, and saying stuff that is so outlandish that it would make the KKK blush.

Just an FYI, studies show men have a strong preference towards fair skin across all cultures. Apparently blonde hair is desirable because it's easier to discern fertility i.e. youth.

Due to colder weather, their skin tone and hair color evolved to adapt to the harsh climate. The alpha men mated with them, and gradually blonde hair became more common over the course of thousands of years. Nonetheless, natural blonde hair is still not too common worldwide.
Women do have a preference of "their own kind" for the reasons I mentioned above. The fact that Asian-American women are the only ones who do not, can be attributed to a confluence of historical, social, and psychological forces, not evolutionary ones. I believe there are two key factors here. The first is the total humiliation and occupation of Japan by the U.S. after WWII. The book "Embracing Defeat" vividly chronicles Japanese society during the occupation, which lasted from 1945-1952. American soldiers were seen as saviors; they spread American movies, sports, etc., throughout the country while re-building the defeated nation. The natives enthusiastically embraced everything that was American. At the same time, a lot of Japanese women met and married the soldiers. A similar phenomenon took place during the Korean War.
The second factor is the liberal media's total emasculation of Asian men. One cannot deny the incontrovertible power of the media in shaping what society deems "attractive" and "sexy." We know this to be true because archetypes of both male and female beauty have evolved drastically over the years. So the self-hate that inflicts a lot of Asian-American women is not accidental but the result of these overarching forces. After all, what other result can you expect when Asian-American women are bombarded by negative images of their brothers while being inundated with images of the white man as the epitome of all that is good and true and how the white man is the savior who will rescue them from their tyrannical Asian fathers?

I disagree with the Asian preference hypothesis with regards to the aftermath of WWII. I think the biggest contributing factor may be that Asian men are physically perceived (rightly or wrongly) as being feminine. Sorta the same story with Black women being perceived as masculine. I can agree that the media has shaped preferences for sure, but I think ultimately it's a matter of people getting options they may never have had before.
Although I will concede that I don't really know if it's the case that Asian women are after white guys more so than it is that white guys are after Asian women. From all the stuff I've read on the internet, while women do have a preference for dark skin to some extent, and "their own kind", it is a very small part of what they look at, and ultimately they're after power - meaning either testosterone or wealth.
