AllianceBernstein's Reputation

Hey guys,

I am interested in joining an asset manager out of school. I have an offer to join AllianceBernstein in their rotational program. I was just wondering what is AB's reputation?

Even though AB is huge (they manage almost half a trillion) it seems like most people know places like BlackRock, Vanguard, and PIMCO much better. Some have even told me that these are just much better firms and are better places to work. I am trying to figure out if AB is a good place to start a career or if I should look elsewhere.

What do you guys think?

I interviewed at their NYC office for that position and didn't take the offer. The people there seemed okay, but almost all of them came from other shops. This gave me the idea that it's one of those 'backup' firms that people go to when they are fired/forced out of other places.

Also, their glassdoor reviews aren't stellar.
