Arrested but not charged
I was arrested 6 months ago for DUI but the DA has not charged me. I have series 3, 7, 63 and 65. Can I change employers or will FINRA hold u moving me licenses?

Getting Arrested (Originally Posted: 05/16/2007)
Hello,
I was arrested sophmore year for underage drinking. The charges were dropped in court and I was not convicted of a crime. I ended up getting suspended from school for the remainder of the semester (even though it was my first disiplinary offense). I was still able to graduate on time. If this shows up on my background check, will it cause me to lose my offer? BTW offer is full-time at a top BB. Any advice on how I should handle this? Hope I am not screwed. Thanks!!!
dont mention it. if it's brought up say something like "they said the charges were dropped, such and such. I was young and dumb, I've matured vastly since then." you know, seem dumbfounded then play it to your advantage.
agreed........don't mention it. Aparently getting kicked out of school didn't screw your gpa and education because you got into a BB.
If they say anything (which is doubtful) just say it was dropped and shouldn't have shown up and tell them it was for drinking in college. I can't imagine an offer being rescinded for drinking in college.
I had a somewhat similar incident my sophomore year, although I didn't get suspended. I too went into a top BB and it didn't pose an issue at all. You'll be fine. Just be prepared to answer it should questions arise.
First disciplinary offense -- Underage drinking, and you were in court and suspended from college? Does this appear a little outrageous to anyone else? It takes over 10 offenses (yes this happens to people) before you start getting punished beyond fines and housing credits where I went. Was there anything else that happened along with underage drinking?
Yeah..something is definitely up with his story, unless he went to some school like Liberty.
When you get arrested, you have to go to court. Nothing strange there.
As for getting suspended - yea it was harsh. Don't want to get into details, but it was all politics. It was nothing worse than drinking, and I could easily explain if I needed to.
So the consensus is that I should be OK? If it does come up and the firm is concerned, would I be given a chance to explain?
Could be possible. On the contrary to what everyone is saying I have heard stories of BB firms finding out a person did not disclose a felony MIP and they were promptly let go. First time offense might be different, but I wouldnt myself think any past legal trouble is no big deal.
What the fuck is a "felony MIP," you idiot? You obviously did not get the whole story here.
I would say it all depends on who is in charge of keeping you there. If they find out without you telling them, and they think it shows a lack of trust/morals on your part, then you could be in hot water.
However, those people are d*cks and you probably dont want to work for them anyway. I wouldnt be surprised if 80-90% of the American population participated in underage binge drinking. Personally I would just keep my mouth shut. The one person I have heard of was mouthing about it to other employees.
