Basic Alpha strategies book

Can anyone suggest a text covering basic alpha seeking strategies?

I've found investopedia's and a book by Yale's CIO, but I really don't want any opinions for different investing instruments. I just want core strategies

I always felt strategy is the wrong word - a better word would be structuring..

anyway - just pick up books on hedge fund strategies and pe strategies on amazon. Just do a basic search there. You won't actually learn how to apply and execute those strategies but they give a general description.

I've gone by Amazon, but I don't feel like relying on their reviews is adequate. Who knows the type of reviewer and the many 4+ star books I've seen only makes me wonder if those reviewers actually know what they're reading or some layman investor that was swept away by the promise of high returns

Honestly, I need a book that can help me execute portfolio structures. I'm going to join an online portfolio sim as I start pursuing the industry

Look on amazon at university level text books. They will definitely have what you're looking for. And if the reviewers are reviewing a book about alpha, then they may be more than just "laymen".
