BlackRock FMA Group

Hey guys,

I just applied to BlackRock's FMA group for an internship next summer; the work seems really interesting and unique. I was wondering if anyone could give more insight as to what it's like to work in this group beyond what I can get out of the website (work environment, examples of projects, opportunities for advancement, pay, etc...maybe interview tips as well). I'd also like to hear if similar opportunities exist at other firms. Thanks!

I really appreciated his willingness to listen to my background, understand my career aspirations and help me think through potential directions. The session was particularly useful in broadening my understanding of the different opportunities available across digital assets and traditional investment management. I found the discussion around investment research, fundamental analysis, financial modelling, fund selection and investment due diligence especially valuable. It helped me think about and identify alternative pathways such as digital asset investment research, fund of funds, manager selection, venture capital and investment strategy. I also appreciated the practical suggestions of companies and organisations to explore, as well as the discussion around the skills and experience needed to move into these areas.
