Blackrock or Deutsche Bank Internship?

Hi,

I have an offer at Deutsche Bank for AM and at Blackrock, within the Alternative Investment team. Any thoughts on which one I should go for? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi hjn, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)

Are you in the states or the EU? What are the described roles of each internship? Deutsche (pronounced in finance with an exaggerated German accent) has seen it's ups and downs. We have an X-trackers veteran on our team. iShares is supposedly a rough but rewarding place to work. I cannot speak to the portions of either firm outside of that. Both firms are HUGE, narrowing down the what and where would help us. I'm in equities, but alts is a very broad space, you could be doing anything from timberlands to microfinance lending. (Blackrock is the world's largest asset manager at $5T, Deutsche is like the BoA of continental Europe)

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
