Canada: How many vacation + personal/flex days do you get per year?
I am at a boutique shop (1B AUM) based in Canada. I am currently awarded 15 vacation days + 0 personal/flex days per year. I am just curious what other Canadian financial institutions are offering in terms of vacation days + personal/flex days (and your current job title, seniority, or pay band)? Thanks.
15 days vacation +3 personal days… first year analyst. 70k
10 vacation days + 0 personal/flex days. First year analyst with 60k base.
CDPQ starts at 4 weeks of vacation. Don't know for flex days, but prob. 3-5 or something like that.
I worked at two Canadian firms. The first provided 20 vacation days with 0 flex/sick days; however, every 3 years with the firm you got gifted an additional 10 days for that year. The second firm provided 15 days with 5 sick days. So both have been ~20 days.
25 vacation days + 1 summer day + 2 volunteer days, first year associate at top AM firm 88k base
RBC AN1: 15 days vacation, 0 flex days
Jeez, as an American I thought Canada had a lot more of a European mentality when it came to vacations but seems it's mixed. I get 15 days here and that feels like it's nowhere near enough. 20 would be solid, 25 would be amazing
When I was in Corporate Banking I got 20 days + 0 sick/personal/flex days; however, every three years of employment you were gifted an additional 10 days to use that year (ex: Year 1: 20; Year 2: 20; Year 3: 30; Year 4: 20....). Now that I am in Restructuring I get 15 days + 5 sick days.
