Connections - Public equities (stocks custody, fund/asset management)

Hi,

Would anyone be so kind to please tell me where could I find the people with strong connections to large individual and institutional shareholders of publicly listed companies and/or strong connections to publicly traded stock custodians - large asset/fund management firms? I'm seeking for people with those relationships.

I tried to search for them via LinkedIn and VirtualNonExecs but barely anyone is responding.

Tried to contact endless of recruiting agencies but all of them rejected me for any of major three reasons:

1. they require too much upfront retainer fee

2. they recruit for permanent work only but this is impossible in my case. No one would have unlimited size of those connections.

3. they don't have the candidates with appropriate connections if their database

Could anyone please tell me where else could I find those people? I tried Investor Relations departments of public companies directly. Even tried to contact custodians on my own but they are not willing to cooperate and communicate, while I urgently need someone with already established partnerships (relationships). What else could I do?
