I was in contact with a few headhunters for long-only AM, but really have only gotten hedge fund employment listings.
I was wondering if there are specific recruiters who do better for long-only positions? or if these rely more on internal recruiters as opposed to headhunters?
In my experience the recruiters for long only funds will come to you, not the other way around. There are generally very, very few openings especially at larger firms so opportunities are sporadic.
