ESG Director pay
Does anyone have a feel for what ESG directors make at long only firms? Feedback I’ve gotten is that pay is similar to marketing but not what an investment team member makes unless ESG person can point to driving significant flows. Does a range of $200k-$400k sound right?
so many factors. what does the role entail? what kind of shop is it? AUM?
Going to massively depend but o have seen esg director pay in the 300-450 range at public pensions
Role is to coordinate ESG process among investment staff, oversee controversial proxies etc, and put together mktg material for current and prospective clients. Seems interesting but hard to justify high comp without ties to flows or performance.
