Feel like I’m stagnating in my role and not progressing much, any advice? (Long post)

Hey all, I work in the AM arm of a large bank but I’m not a pure PM/advisor, I follow the guidelines of our CIO & have tight investment policies on our accounts. We have a separate team internally that works on manager research, approving our investment options, portfolio construction, etc. in my free time I usually try to learn that side of the business.

My role is somewhat a mix of relationship management & operations on my accounts. I speak to a handful of clients each quarter about their portfolios (range of UMA/SMA accounts, treasury ladders, standard 70/30 accounts). I trade these accounts and do rebalancing throughout the year and ensure they’re in line with their IPS and our best thinking. I have some accounts that are more discretionary and I’ve tend to manage them very well to their benchmarks.

Outside of quarterly review where I discuss performance and the markets to clients, I find myself not really doing much. The more exciting part of my job is when a client wants to discuss a change in their IPS/strategy and I get to dig deep and pitch my recommendations on how to reallocate.

I'm overall grateful because I feel like at 25 I have gained responsibility in my role and have a book of clients to oversee and it's allowed me to gain confidence. I should break $100k comp at my 3 year mark but feel like I will stagnate since all I’m doing is RM type of work and trading operations.

What are my options to pivot into different roles with my skill set?
