Good shop. Jeremy Grantham made the right calls for about a decade so they saw a ton of increase in AUM. Also good exit opps with other buy-side firms in the area. I was reading bios from that firm and saw a former trader from LTCM there which I thought was pretty cool.
Pay - should be the same as other buy-side firms in boston.
Data analyst sounds like a BO job.
It probably is...from what I gathered from the job description its the liason between the investment teams and the IT dept... not ideal but...anyways
thinking of using this position to leverage it into a FO investment type of role with the company later on, but I know this is probably false hope??? I tried it with my current company but to no avail... ppl tell me that it's better to just go back to school (MSF/MBA) or do something else instead of trying this BO-FO transition...
but if the pay isn't bad then probably would sacrifice BO for the money I guess

GMO is one of the most reputed asset management shops. Where did you attend the presentation? Was it OCR?
Interviewed there. very quant-focused. I was given pretty much a 20 minute interview then a case study. Took me 70 hours to complete, had a week to complete it.

A very good Asset Management shop--most people who are in the know in terms of asset management should respect. I know they're strong in GTAA space, since I have a case study on them for my own work.
