Industry Expert Calls

Hello Monkeys,

Could someone shed some light on how to go about conducting a call with an expert to do two things - do a deeper dive into subsectors, secular growth trend in the sector and learn about technology / capacity / capabilities that puts a company ahead of its peers?

More specifically, how do you come up with a list of experts, screen them, arrange time / location, and payment for their time (method/amount)?

Thank you all in advance!

Not sure about how to DIY these, but typically the expert call services (Guidepoint, GLG, Alphasights) would handle all of these things  -- my firm was not interested in setting up expert calls outside of compliance so 100% of our 1x1 calls were set up this way.

Otherwise, sellside analysts at the brokers typically set up some group calls.
