Is there a free source of fundamentals that I can extract from with excel?

I'm trying to create a stock screener; but I am building it from scratch, and it requires a lot of fundamental data.

Does anyone know where/how I can extract specific line items off a companies financials without factset/bloomberg/etc? So far the only thing I can think of is extracting all the data from yahoo finance manually, but I would rather automate the data extraction using VBA or something.

Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?

Powered by thompson I believe and was like $10/mo. if I recall collectly. Finviz is also decent.
