Can anyone share some insights about this group? Is this JPM's merchant bank division? And how does the interview process look like for an internship?

Tax equity group in Chicago
The group sits within JPM’s securitized products group under markets sales & trading. Pay is very similar to what you could expect in a similar structured finance originations seat (think CMBS, ABS). As far as work, juniors take full ownership of their deal models, so you get very very good at modeling renewables infra deals and structuring tax equity. Hope this helps.
