London AM LO
Hi,
I'm a first year IB analyst at a US BB in London and currently just exploring all the options available to me.
Could anyone please guide me towards where I could find good info on the LO AM funds in London? I am aware the top ones are cap group, t rowe etc but would appreciate further information on them and how recruiting is typically done
Thanks a lot!

You'll be eligible for Capital Group's CAP program if you're a first-year analyst. Otherwise, your best shot would be 2 years IB -> 2 years HF -> MBA -> LO AM. At least that's the case for American firms, European firms are typically more forgiving and less structured with lateral hires.
is MBA all that prevalent in London? I've been in my seat for about two years now and even looking at others at my firm and outside, don't see much guys with MBA, apart from the C-Suite lot. Typically it's just grad scheme, rating agencies or ex-bankers. I don't know if i'm missing something.
At a very large American shop, and probably 50% of the guys here have top MBAs - Wharton, CBS, Sloan, Booth, etc. Surprised me because only my consultant friends work with as many MBAs.
Is this London though? Legit I don't know if i'm blind loool I hardly see people from any of these schools at AM firms in London (not C-suite positions).
Yep, in London. We also hire from INSEAD and LBS, but not from any other European b-schools. Will note that we have great internal mobility and pay almost near US$, so have lots of Americans.
Do you recruit MiF grads from the top schools or is the hiring restricted to MBA programs only?
Asking because I am considering doing an MiF from LBS/Cambridge (or LSE although that's a pre-experience program). I'd basically be using the MiF to transition to London. Worked in SS ER and currently on the buy side BUT at a no-name firm in Pakistan!
Or two years PE > MBA > AM. The best AMs are American and they recruit through the MBAs.
