Prospect Capital

Hi All,

Does anyone have intel on the culture at Prospect Capital (the BDC)? I can't seem to find much on WSO other than referencing some scathing Glassdoor reviews. Is it really that bad? I am interested in their direct lending group but this seems to be a big red flag. I've linked the most frightening review below but there are some others to a similar effect. The positive reviews on Glassdoor seem fake. Would really appreciate any insight into life at Prospect. Thanks!

Went through a process with them. Ultimately I backed out.

Glassdoor freaked me out.  Enough so I reached out to ex employees.  Their feedback over the phone was VERY bad.

What I can't get over is that apparently this firm is micromanaged in an extreme way by greer(the coo).  You have to cc him and everyone else on nearly all communication and he nitpicks and asks questions ("I need to know why this number is that way") to everyone all day slowing everything down.

2 times a week they have a firm wide conference call that goes on for hours discussing what everyone did last 48 and plan for next 48.  You need to email updates to the entire firm several times a week about your last 48 and next 48.   Thats thousands of emails flying around weekly (and greer responds to them and nitpick plans to the entire firm).

And employee confirmed this all to me on the phone.

Not my cup of tea.

Also the ceos wife being head of hr was the kiss of death for me.   Numerous glassdoor reviews state people would bring up personal issues to hr only for it to magically be known by mgmt and used against them later at bonus time.

My diligence on this firm left such a negative impression on me I have used them in stock short pitches in other processes I've been involved with.
