Series 7/66 licensing

I just passed the SIE, Series 7 top off, Series 66 and my group one insurance for TX. I'm not sure if anyone else on here is taking or will have to take these, but if you have any questions on what they are like or how to prepare then ask away. Anyone who has taken them feel free to chime in with advice!

Thanks for the question. The SIE is, in fact, pretty simple. It is even simpler if you have a finance degree. I used the new company Achievable that WSO recommended and think I did great (no scores shown it just says pass). The SIE lays a good base layer for the 7. The 7 is a longer test but really just builds off the SIE basics and goes more in depth. The options may be the only part that is noticeably harder and I recommend drawing the options matrix right when you start your test and memorizing max loss/gain and break even and you will be fine.

The 66 is based on law so the material is a bit dry and they try to trip you up with double negatives and answers that seems very similar. I personally thought it was the harder one to study for and take because of these things.

I used Kaplan material which has way harder questions than the actual test imo. I read the book, did every practice question then took the mastery exam followed by multiple practice exams. I never made below an 80% on a single practice test for the 7 or 66 after doing all the practice questions.

For timing, I studied 3 weeks for SIE, 4 for the 7/66. They can be done in less time probably but I wasn't in a big rush. Hope this helps!
