Starting in AM with an obscenely lower salary
I just really wanna see what everyone thinks. My offer from a LO AM is coming with a terribly low salary (£38k most likely no bonus, pretax). While it's 100% understandable why they're cutting pay for new joiners (training cost, places highly coveted etc), it's just hard to make a decision when there's a sell-side offer that is paying £65k base. I also understand wlb balance is another merit for LO. The firm I'm talking about is a top firm with $1T AUM. Their grad programme is top notch and most grads become analysts & PMs with extremely low, almost nonexistent turnover.
I'm 24 years old, there's really no point for experimenting anymore. Would you accept the pay cut to remain in AM? Why or why not?
