Status of the job market
Job market question: For those actively looking right now, what is your evaluation of the current job market? I’ve been looking for mid/senior roles. From my perspective it’s cooled. Late rounded for 2 roles, only to be declined immediately after negotiating offer. My view is I’m not asking for anything outside of market. In the midst of another interview process currently, and it seems they are “slow playing” me. These three situations make me think companies are being very choosy and waiting for the right candidate at the right price, and not just the right candidate. Anyone have any other thoughts/intel?
I think you're right that companies are being pretty picky with who they want to select, especially for manager roles. I think the market for more junior associates or analysts is kinda picking up? I'm not too sure, perhaps its survivorship bias.
Yeah it is not great right now, not awful though. Just need to keep grinding, only persistence will win in this marathon market
