Traditional Equity Investing role to Quant / Factor Investing role
Hi,
I'm currently heading into 3rd year in LO equity investing role at a small firm ($7 billion AUM)where I cover 3 sectors and write codes for various stuff. I recently got an offer from a smaller firm ($3 billion AUM) but leaner org but the role is more around quant analysis, machine learning, factor research with a bit of fundamental analysis involved as a generalist(at least as per discussion).
Without the consideration for cost of living and pay (COL is similar, pay is a marginal bump upwards on base and higher bonus max), should I take the offer?
Could anyone shed some light into the career trajectory or outlook between fundamental equity investing vs. quant equity investing?
Thanks in advance!
