UBS asset management taking ages to reply?
So i applied for a 12 month placement in asset management at UBS at the start of september. I’m at a non target but i have an asset management internship already and did extremely well in my online assessments:
28/29 - inductive reasoning (extremely fast + extremely accurate)
12/16 - Verbal reasoning (extremely fast + extremely accurate)
I submitted my video interview over a month ago, which i felt went ok/good, and i still havenmt heard anything back.
Anytime i’ve been rejected it’s been anywhere from 2 hours to 2 weeke post video interviews, so is the delay here a potential good sign, and how likely is it that i get an interview if i’ve done well in the video interview?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding your situation with UBS Asset Management:
Application Timeline: It's not uncommon for firms to take a while to respond, especially if they are still reviewing applications. For instance, in a similar case with J.P. Morgan, candidates who submitted their video interviews in mid-August were still waiting for responses by mid-September.
Review Process: UBS might be taking their time to thoroughly review all applications. Delays can sometimes be a good sign, indicating that your application is still under consideration rather than being outright rejected.
Previous Experiences: From the WSO threads, it’s noted that some candidates have experienced delays in hearing back after video interviews. For example, one user mentioned that they were informed by the CIB recruitment office that applications were still being reviewed until a specific deadline.
Potential Good Sign: The delay could indeed be a positive sign. If you haven't received a rejection yet, it means you are still in the running.
Next Steps: It might be helpful to follow up with UBS to inquire about the status of your application. A polite email expressing continued interest and asking for an update can sometimes prompt a response.
In summary, while the wait can be frustrating, it’s not necessarily a bad sign. Patience and a proactive follow-up could be beneficial in your case.
