What can I do with a fixed income internship?

Recently decided to go back to grad school (Target Msc in London) and have secured a pre-program fixed income (credit research) internship at a decent sized insurance company (~$90Bn AUM). As far as I've been told the internship does not have the option to convert to FT, so I'm curious what opportunities will be available to me when I get on campus. Could I aim for fixed income AM/HF ? credit focused IB? Private credit funds?
