Will the flow of money from public markets to PE and passive continue?

When I talk to friends, they just seem dejected. They are working their backs off, but the career opportunity looks far bleaker than even 3-4 years ago.

What do you guys think? Is the shift to passive and private going to stay, or will it turn eventually?
