Kellogg or Columbia for MBB (unconventional background)

I come from an unconventional background (architecture) and would like to get into MBB. I am deciding between Columbia and Kellogg. I am from New York and prefer to stay in New York after MBA. That said, I feel Kellogg would give me a better shot of getting into MBB as it can leverage better my background. Any thoughts?

Never met an architect in B-school before. You might get interviews just for being interesting.

To answer your question, if you want to be in NYC and are in at Columbia and there's no significant cost difference at play, then you're better off at Columbia.

There were a few architects at my MBA, most of them targeting consulting, and I think they ended up getting either MBB or tier 2.

To answer your questions, it makes no difference really for the NYC office which school you go to. Both place very well pretty much in every office in the US. If you are professional in your interactions, and have a decently high GMAT (which I assume is not an issue given the schools you're heading to), you should get at least an interview at MBB with your profile. After that, it's just your case solving and interviewing skills. So just pick the school where you think you'd fit better.

Why do you think Kellogg can leverage your background better?
