McK Oil and Gas Interview

I'm coming from a rather unconventional background for consulting (Masters in International Affairs) and am going into my second round interview (first round was over the phone) with McKinsey's Oil and Gas Division (I study energy security and policies for the Asia-Pacific).

Does anyone know what I can expect from this interview since I was told this isn't your average management consulting department? How much business concepts would I be expected to understand and use, and which ones would you suggest I learn? As well as any tips on how to prepare.

Thanks!!

Be able to apply the frameworks and so on, but be ready with a little more value-added if (more likely when) they throw a case at you which is relevant to your energy policy experiences. I think you'd be surprised the number of folk with experiences you might describe as "unconventional": the summer associates this year at the one McK office I know about include folk from policy backgrounds (the White House, CSIS, etc), medicine, law, and a bunch of other subjects. MBAs aren't even an absolute majority.

So would working in oil and gas involve hopping back and forth between your home base and Calgary, Houston, Dubai (and the rest of the middle east), a bunch of African countries, South America and maybe Rio?
