offers and Deloitte BTA

Hi all,

I am a ug junior recruiting for summer internships

Recently, I landed some offers and am not sure which one to choose

I did not even get to the first round with BCG or BAIN. McKinsey doesn't recruit with my school. I believe the lack of leadership experiences coupled with bad SAT scores could have been the causes. I have 3.85 overall and 3.96 Econ GPA. I am a bit baffled, but there is nothing I can do at this point.

here are the offers

  1. PwC Consumer Finance Group. Most of the work is audit, but it is a bit more specialized since I get to attest financial models (e.g. DCF). There is some consulting side to this job (about 20 %).

  2. Black Rock PMG I don't think I need to explain any further.

  3. ZS Associates This one I am a bit worried since most of their practices are healthcare. This is not a speculative statement. I have confirmed with various ZS consultants.

4, This one I am still debating. It's Deloitte BTA. I haven't even applied. But, I don't even know if should even waste my time recruiting since their work doesn't seem like much S&O work.

  1. JPMC mid coporate Banking

Which one should I choose? My goal is to break into MBB during fall recruiting.

By the time fall comes around, I will have 3.9 overall GPA with still 3.96 in Econ. Which firm would look

Help me!

Deloitte BTA is certainly not S/O work (did it for a summer) but exposure to consulting is valuable nonetheless. Met some great people, learned a fair amount and it helped me break into M/B/B/ for FT.

My case had some very, very high level tech stuff. It was more about the life cycle of a project, how you go about acquiring information, key stakeholders, etc etc. Of course YMMV by office and recruiting cycle. They (Deloitte) also don't assume high levels of tech wizardry when staffing for UG internships

I guess I've always been techie to a certain degree, I'd interned at another company and used a fair amount of Excel and CRM stuff so I had some experience there. But they were more interested in analytical, reasoned thinking TBH. I don't remember them asking anything too technologically intensive
