How often do consulting firms hire graduating college seniors for summer internships?
I would like to apply for an internship with one of MBB, rather than for a full-time position, because I have not had enough time to prepare for case interviews, and still am not sure if I want to commit a full-time career to management consulting. But I'm wondering if I should even bother applying for an internship with MBB as a college senior, if MBB looks down up on seniors applying for internships.

I can almost guarantee you that the intern application process will be even more competitive than the full time process.
Maybe if you were doing a 1-year masters degree after undergrad they might bite...

2) You are missing the whole point. Summer internship programs allow firms to get an early look at the best of the best, and to hire people who will then serve as a form of advertising for the firm among the seniors. There's really no purpose in doing summer internships for anyone other than a rising senior.
Applying for an internship as a graduating senior signals to firms that you are behind in the process. This isn't a huge problem, but you're better off applying for an FT position and coming up with a convincing story of why you have no experience.
