Barclays Credit Research Reputation
Have Barclays SA offer in credit research for 2025. Anyone able to provide any info on reputation, culture, compensation, exit opps in this role? Worth waiting for Jefferies ECM Superday?
Their desk put out a note yesterday morning that they expected SFRFP bonds down only 0.5pts after earnings lol. So.

How long did it take you to hear back from the superday?
Capital market roles are similar in their scope but very different in exposure from research roles in the sense that capital market roles have better exit due to transaction experiences and client-facing nature. Would say worth waiting.
Barclays is one of the few banks on the street with a full-suite credit research (publishing + desk analysts - IG/HY/SS/Loans). They are the top 3, but not at the top - this helps maintaining entrepreneurial mindset. JPM and BofA have great credit research teams as well and are certainly more reputed. That said, Barclays has some of the brightest minds and a great balance sheet - fully recommend taking it up if given an option.
