Comps and HC in a not so hot market

Headcount: From my POV, there aren't a lot of opportunities flowing around like a few years ago in the PC job market (not talking about distressed, special sits, etc.), but certainly curious if everyone's shop is like mine and trying to be cautious around adding new W-2 (backfilling only). Any insight on the sentiment for the next few years will be great!

Comps: Any data point on Asso - VP who recently made the move to a new shop? I found the comps generally lackluster these days vs. a few years back and just can't compare vs. the numbers flowing around on the forum here (i.e. Ares's LMM DL internal recruiter is telling me ~$160k all-in for Asso seat in Boston). Again, any insights/thoughts will be helpful.

Thanks!

Are there more opportunities popping up in special situations/ distressed? Doesn’t seem to be the case for me.
