DB FICC

hi everyone. i recently interviewed for DB in their FICC rotational program this upcoming summer. I was wondering what desks I should try to get on if i do get the offer (whether rates, emerging markets, private credit) in terms of what db is best at/known for and what would be best to do going forward career wise in terms of money and longevity. not super knowledgeable about fixed income so any insight is appreciated. i’ve heard a lot of weight for desk placement full time is put on networking so want to make sure im talking with the right people to be on the best desk

Currently an analyst in DB FICC London, there are plenty of good credit desks that will teach you the fundamentals. If you are set on single name credit then the best would be distressed products group and direct lending (do venture debt and mezz as well since it was originally a special sits desk). However, also have interesting options in infrastructure & energy, transportation financing, ABS and credit solutions to name a few.

Let me know if you have further questions!

Hey,

Do not want to share too much information as not to dox myself...But lets just say I went for a desk that has great learning and exposure to single name fundamental credit analysis.

Provides me flexibility as what to do down the road hopefully!
