London recruiters & firms with real estate credit teams

I’m relocating to London later this year but will be in town in a few months to visit friends/family – I was hoping to line a few meetings up during my stay as well. Can anyone recommend any recruiters they have had positive experiences with?

My background: 4 years out of undergrad and currently working at a large private credit fund based in Sydney primarily supporting real estate and project finance origination (execution role with some portfolio work streams). Currently a VP so ideally would like to lateral to another fund in a similar capacity or even an in-house cap markets team but understand these opps are not as common. There is potential to move with my firm but would like to explore the market - appreciate any views on reputable funds with dedicated RE credit teams.

Cheers

Hey. Sorry that you haven’t had much response yet- Do you still need help? CREFC Europe’s member list includes names of balance sheet (i.e bank) and private credit (i.e funds/ non bank) lenders in UK/Europe real estate which might assist. Just ignore a few law firms in that list.

Similarly, i would look at the names in the Bayes Business School CRE Lending Report and the INREV website.

Europe private real estate debt has really opened up during 2019-2021, with new mega fund entrants including KKR. You also have more established names such as BREDS, Apollo.

PM if you would like to chat further

Hey - thanks for this, very helpful. Do you know much about the European PC firms vs MF debt strategies and how they compete with one another? Assume the MF are more vanilla? I work across the risk spectrum and asset classes and would be good to move somewhere that takes a look at most things.

Good to know. Interesting because here in APAC, I’ve closed more cold storage and parking deals than PBSA or BTR.. guess the PC market here leaves it to the banks to compete on these. I’ll look through old BTR IMs/models to keep myself familiar.
