Can anyone share their views on this group? Saw they have a very large fund and was wondering what their general reputation in the industry is (returns, culture, deployment).
Also if anyone has any views on the LA and NYC office dynamic and how integrated they are?

Idk how culture is from the inside, but from interacting with them they are some of the most pretentious wnkers around
Oaktree is definitely not what it used to be especially post the Brookfield acquisition. Cannot comment much from limited work experience with them. But from the outside looking in, still a great place to work but perhaps past its prime.
The acquisition by Brookfield will bring about significant changes. Most recently deployed fund had Inter Milan, Thrasio, Chinese NPL investments so it’s underperforming. Firm stuck to the distressed playbook which hasn’t worked for quite some time. Past its prime, as someone correctly said. Still well recognised brand though.
