Bank of England Economist Exit Opps

Hi everyone, for some background, I am an Economist (2nd year of experience) at the Bank of England, working in Monetary Analysis and Financial Market Infrastructure. After undergrad, I did an Economics Master's from a top Economics University (Oxbridge/LSE), and after interning at the BofE, I took the full-time return offer. I love the job, but there is little room for upward mobility, and whilst the pay is decent, I could do much better in the private sector. I am primarily interested in moving into Equity or Fixed Income Research, so I would appreciate any guidance on transitioning into these roles, or potentially others that I have not considered.

Economist to ER would be a very strange move. Macro/quant macro and economist roles at HFs seems more reasonable
