Buy side ER case study
LO European fund (10bn AUM)
I have my final round coming up for a healthcare team for a research associate role and I know it will be an on-site assessment/case study during 4hrs.
What should I expect and how can I prepare myself ?
I assume that I'll have to make a model (3 statements/DCF?) for a HC company and then develop an investment case (ppt?) to present and defend?
Any ressources to prepare for these kinds of interviews?
Would greatly appreciate any insights or advice !
Thanks !

For this type of final round, I would focus less on building a perfect DCF and more on showing that you can quickly understand a business and form an investment view. In 4 hours they may give you a company with filings, investor presentations and ask you to build a thesis: why buy/not buy, key catalysts, risks and valuation. A model is possible, but they will likely judge your assumptions and thought process more than the exact numbers. For healthcare, make sure you are comfortable with topics like pipelines, patent cliffs, clinical trial stages, reimbursement and probability of success. Practice writing short investment memos and defending every assumption. The main goal is to demonstrate structured thinking and the ability to prioritize under time pressure.
