ER in Montreal Canada

I have an interview for a ER Assistant position in Montreal, Canada. I currently work in Portfolio Management but I'm trying to make the move into ER. Does any one know what kind of work I could expect in this position (i'm assuming a lot of excel work) and what kind of questions/tests I could expect in the interview?

..I think you need to come clean as to what you actual do. "Portfolio Management"? Maybe, whatever that means. But certainly not a Portfolio Manager. If you were actually holding some form of value-added position in portfolio management, you would never EVER be interviewing for a role as an ER assistant. To answer your question..you'll be doing stapling, carrying, printing, and typing. Even sell-side Equity Research Associates do more then their fair share of grunt work, I would expect nothing more then administration as an Equity Research Assistant.

I'm in sell side ER and our assistant does the admin stuff such as travel arrangements, booking conference rooms, printing, answering calls, etc. It's different from group to group and some assistants will have more responsibilities than the above mentioned. Assistants have moved to associates so I would think of it as getting your foot in the door if you have no other option.
