Getting a Second Shot

From the posts I have started before, I had an interview with Raymond James for an equity research associate position out of college (UF). I did not make it to the superday. That was about a month ago.

Fast forward to today. I emailed the VP of research who is also the main person who deals with hiring. I said I had an on campus interview, but didn't make it to the final round. I then added stuff on why I would want to be there, I guarantee to pass Level 2 of the CFA etc . . .

Immediately I got a response back from her saying that shes happy I am still interested and to call her assistant to set up an appointment to interview. I did it, but I was just wondering is that normal for that to happen? It seemed to easy (to get the interview, not the job).

Thanks all (and this forum needs some more action).

Sorry for not responding. The interview went very well I thought. The first analyst was rather boring. He seemed very methodical in talking about what he does, how he separates himself from other analysts on the street, and what he does on a daily basis. No real technical questions in this interview.

The second interview was with telcomm. The first thing he did was turn over my resume and start drawing graphs about the life cycles or certain products within the industry. He then asked some fit questions.

Finally I interviewed with the VP over lunch. It was a fairly relaxed interview with maybe 25% of the questions dealing with finance. I think I did fairly well on those. They were questions such as: depending on which party wins in the election, which industries will do better or worse? Will the markets be up or down at the end of next year? etc . . . The rest of the interview dealt the casual conversation about the bucs, family, and exercise among other topics.

That was the last I heard of them until yesterday. I got a call from them saying that I will have one more over the phone interview this Monday with another analyst. I don't really know what to think of this, but it was better than getting a call saying I didn't get the job. The assistant said I would find out rather shortly after this phone interview if I got the job.
