GS Global Investment Research

I've got an interview for a 2nd-year analyst position at Goldman Sachs GIR. Anyone have info on culture/environment/hours/prestige there? I know equity research isn't exactly GS's bread and butter, but just wondering if anyone has some experience there.

Also, since GIR isn't your typical revenue generating division, I'm wondering how the bonus structure there might differ from IBD.

I'm not currently in finance so any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Edit: I'm aware that the analyst/associate terminology in ER is flipped. The position I'm going for is at the 2-years-post-undergrad level.

Any updates on your interview?

Yea man how did it go, I have always been set on IBD, but then for some reason my tastes switched completely to ER. I like the public market side. I wonder how the ER division is doing here.

I want a lady on the street, but a freak in the bed, Go Bucks!!

So, I guess the second round went well, because I got invited to final rounds at GS GIR.

I'm coming from a non-finance background, so does anyone have ideas as to what types of questions I should expect?

Thanks!
