How to best prepare for SIE?
Hi Guys,
Has anyone taken the SIE yet? How long did you prepare? What resources did you use to study?
I am coming from science background with no real finance background and just landed a job as a junior ER analyst.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi the4thcafe, don't worry, the WSO Monkey Bot is here.... I'm hoping one of these links will help find your answer:
If we're lucky, the following pros may have something to say: @reinika99" derek.johnson Abdulaziz AlBassam
Hope that helps.
I just passed the test last week after about 10 days studying ~1.5-2 hrs. a night (with a finance background). I bought the SIE-specific prep book thru Kaplan, which was pretty solid.
Hey congrats on passing! I'm using STC myself. Im giving myself 8 to 10 weeks with 1 - 2 hrs per night with a January time frame. What did you think was the most difficult concept to grasp?
I passed the exam on Saturday. Unfortunately they stopped putting actual scores so you don’t know how well you did, just pass/fail. The exam is not easy, but with 2 weeks of solid studying you can assuredly pass. I used Adbanker.com through my work and it sucked, i recommend Kaplan over Adbanker 100%.
Congrats on passing! What was the most difficult concept for you when you studied? thanks
Sorry for the delayed response. It's all kind of a blur now, but I do recall there being a good amount of questions around the suitability and customer account procedures. The investment products (equities, bonds) are heavily focused on, but I find them to be more straight forward.
So, I think if you get those parts down you should be okay.
I have a relationship with Kaplan. They are well known in the prep provider space. Kaplan's SIE book is about 185 pages. They also have other materials such as a question bank and videos. I would suggest a few weeks of consistent studying. You can use the link below to get a discount on Kaplan's SIE and/or 7 materials:
