Lateral Transfer

Do you guys think it would look weird to lateral after 1-1.5 years of work experience? I got an offer to be an As1 which would fast track my career a little bit. The pay difference is along the lines of $160k now to $200k then. My end goal is still moving to the buyside, so I am thinking on one hand being an associate quicker makes me more "competitive" but on the other hand I am not sure if it's good to jump jobs so much.

If you are a good investor now, you will get a job on the buy-side now. If you are never going to think like an investor, you will never get to the buy-side.

More time on the sell-side only makes you a better sell-side professional. It barely makes you a better investor (the only benefit of being on sell-side longer is you will know your sector better, but that in no way guarantees to make you a better buy-sider)
