Hi guys,
I recently lateraled to a regional MM from a F500 position in oil and gas. At the last minute HR called and changed the position from energy to FIG, specifically insurers (mainly P&C).....
So I need something to help me get up to speed on the industry and specifically financial modeling. I found this training online:

Can anyone share their experience with this self study company? I'm open to other online resources, textbooks, anything that can help me understand this industry. I started some reading and insurance is definitely a lot different than E&P.

depends on what you want to model, and whether it's life or p&c - you can't do the group up model because that's what actuaries do (estimating mortality rates, etc.) you can, however, do a simple model based on wide assumptions
These links have a very high level model for an insurance company so that you can understand the dynamics and have an overview of this type of model....
