Just got an invite to do a virtual assessment for the 2021 Equity research summer analyst position. Anyone else get this? Anybody have any insight?

It’s a finance technical quiz (eg macro stuff, gdp etc) with a tiny bit of stats/probability
Also look out for expected value and accounting-related questions.

if you've prepped for finance interviews, the finance technical portion shouldn't be too bad and the probability section you can use logic. If you're coming from a traditional finance background, you may not know all the "probability theories" that will be relevant like Bayes but you can honestly just use your head for those.
That was kind of hard. How do you guys think you did on it? I got a ton of probability and options questions with only one macro type question.
Got one for CM. Failed. IPO questions are not my strong suit

yep, have my first round today, but applied to a couple of other positions so I'm not sure it's for this one. I have no idea what I'm supposed to prepare

Seems like everyone gets the assessment. I got it a few days after I applied and just got an invite to a first round interview with a recruiter. Got the invite day after I took the test.

Got a first round interview a few days after completing the online assessment, was told to schedule during mid-Sept.
Completed my first round earlier this week, was told by HR that I would be moving forward to second round phone interview, but yet to hear about the specifics.
Just finished my first round as well. Was told the same thing about moving on. So is the next round a final round or just second round? They didn't specify.
Also, were you told if you were doing sell-side or buy side? They didn't ask me which I preferred, but my background is buy-side.

1st round wasn't bad at all. Very easy. Have a second round next week.

was told I'd be moving on at the end of my interview. Took a couple days to hear back about scheduling after that.
Wasn't told I would be moving on during the first round, but received a 2nd round invite via email awhile after so don't panic if if anyone's in a similar situation

Good luck! Did you get mostly probability/brain teaser type questions in the first round? Or did they ask a lot of finance questions as well?
