What is Hedgeye's reputation like? I just received an offer for a sophomore internship?

I come from a non-target and non-diversity background. Do people on the street know about Hedgeye, will my interviewers for a junior summer internship (2024) be impressed if I tell them that is where I am working this summer?

Just trying to provide some context from someone in a seat at a BB - I follow Hedgeye on Twitter, keep up with their takes and think they do a great job. To directly answer your question, I know my analyst knows of them so if you had it on your resume it would 1. Show interest and 2. Provide better experience than anything non-research related.

Do you have other options? I know it's a little different but bottom line I think it's a good oppty.

Thank you, my other offer is with real estate industry research at a small investment boutique tied with an insurance company. A lot of excel data work instead of modeling which I’m not super excited about. And anyways I’m hoping to get a 2024 offer as well from BB or MM

I have been a subscriber to their research in the past. They do a thorough job with real work, make both company specific and sector calls, and run a coverage model so recommendations are continually updated as situations evolve and the market moves. I’d argue their research is more short than medium / long term focused with emphasis on quarters / accelerations and decelerations in KPIs forming most of a thesis at any given time with some longer term secular views to round out the edges. Probably more applicable to pod sops, but I don’t think I’d knock someone for having been an analyst there.
